Before discussing expected Pakistan team for Cricket World Cup 2019, against expectations, the team might not be able to qualify for the tournament, directly. Pakistan is currently languishing at the ninth spot in the ICC ODI rankings and needs to rise up the table to qualify for ICC World Cup 2019. Team’s hopes of automatic World Cup qualification toughened as they plummeted to their lowest-ever rating of 86 after losing the five-match ODI series 1-4 against England.

Pakistan Cricket Team

Pakistan’s Test and One-Day International sides are heading in the opposite direction. While the Misbah-ul-Haq-led team jumped to the top of ICC Test rankings, the ODI side has been nothing short of a disappointment. Not only were they on the verge of a 5-0 whitewash against England, they are currently languishing at the ninth spot in ICC ODI rankings, below West Indies at eight and above Afghanistan at 10. However, Azhar Ali particularly has not had a good time as captain, and the consequences of this loss can be huge. As a matter of fact, if Pakistan does not get enough points by September 30, 2017, they may not qualify for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, which is scheduled to be played in England and Wales. Tyres ICC ODI Team Rankings as on 30 September 2017 will qualify directly for the ICC’s pinnacle 50-over tournament, while the remaining two sides will progress from the 10-team ICC Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2018.
